Tom Masters, a young apprentice turnbroach, has dreams to work in the most important kitchen in England. To do this he needs to succeed in a series of apprentice trials and compete against his rival, Percy. But along the way, he gets embroiled in one of the biggest conspiracies of the Tudor age – an attempt on King Henry VIII’s life. Assisted by his trusted cat Briar and Jessica, a lady-in-waiting to Queen Anne Boleyn, he enters the world of Tudor espionage and aims to foil a plot against the king’s life. But will he succeed?
